Course Description

Senior Social Studies is about how societies work and how people can participate in their communities as informed, critical, active, and responsible citizens. You will examine the causes and effects of social issues that relate to identity, culture, and organisation, and learn to take actions that may bring about social improvement. You will investigate how individuals, communities, and societies respond to change and how ideas about society develop over time. Topics explored in senior social studies are cultural conflicts, social activism, social movements, environmental and ecological action, political and cultural conflicts, policy and legislation, and ideology. In this course, you will engage with social issues, explore values, and act to improve society and build a career pathway. Approved UE subject.
