Courses Description

“A woman’s place is in the home”? Not anymore! This module will analyse the way that women have sought to have rights in democratic society. We’ll study the Women’s Suffrage movement (the fight to get the right to vote) in England and Aotearoa, and how it led to massive changes in the place of women in our society (and how there’s still a long way to go!).

Students will develop skills in crafting an argument and applying supporting evidence; perfect preparation for writing at university and beyond!

It is highly recommended that you take this module in conjunction with Trimester 1 and 3 History modules. Doing this will mean that you can gain 16 credits in this Table A university approved subject.

All Junior Bilingual students must select the literacy and numeracy modules in the language of their pathway each trimester and one other integrated language module  (3 out of 4 of their modules must be bilingual).
All senior Bilingual students must take all modules available in the language of their pathway.
