Votes for Women/Hiroshima (External/Internal pathways) - History

Courses Description

Head of Pathway: Mr G. Van den Hoeven.

This module focuses on preparation for an external exam, based on the ‘Votes for Women’ learning in Trimester 2:

“A woman’s place is in the home”? Not anymore! This module will analyse the way that women have sought to have rights in democratic society. We’ll study the Women’s Suffrage movement (the fight to get the right to vote) in England and Aotearoa, and how it led to massive changes in the place of women in our society (and how there’s still a long way to go!).

It is highly recommended that you take this module in conjunction with the Trimester 2 History module because we will apply learning from Trimester 2 to external preparation.

Alternatively, if you have taken the Trimester 1 History module (Hiroshima), you can use this learning to attempt another internal standard (AS91437 Analyse different perspectives of a contested event of significance to New Zealanders)
