Courses Description

This module will study the role of the Polynesian Panthers in challenging injustice experienced by Pasifika and others in Aotearoa/NZ. We will study the causes of Pasifika migration to Aotearoa and the challenges they faced once they got here. Students will make connections to wider patterns of justice and activism.

We will also look at media produced about the Dawn Raids and the Polynesian Panthers, such as the “Dawn Raids” Documentary and the novel “Dawn Raid” by Pauline Vaeluaga Smith.

All senior Bilingual students must take all modules available in the language of their pathway.
