VisTech & Statistical Fun! - Mathematics and Digital Technology

JVIST3MT
Courses Description

Head of Pathway: Ms M. Yelkur, Ms R. Eveleigh.

Using numbers to communicate real world ideas is what this course is all about. What are the chances of winning the lottery, or how likely is it that a person could be struck by lightning? Examining statistics and probability can help answer those questions. You will also get a chance to create posters using digital technology in the form of infographics. This course will combine the understanding of numbers and the skill of visualising what they mean in real-world terms.

This module focuses on Numeracy, combining Maths with Technology. "Numeracy" means understanding and using numbers and maths concepts in different situations. The module aims to integrate learning to improve critical thinking, teamwork, and practical skills, preparing students for academic challenges and fostering a lifelong commitment to Numeracy and Statistical Analysis.

What will you learn?

  • In Maths you will be exploring  - statistics, probability, and numeracy
  • In Digital Tech you will be using digital tools to create infographic posters that show the numbers and their meaning in a fun, understandable way!
