Kerehana Cafe 2 - Vocational Pathway

Kerehana Cafe 1 - Vocational Pathway

Are you interested in entering the hospitality industry? Are you a practical learner? Do you want to learn an employable skill that will provide you with valuable hospitality experience?

This course will teach you to make cafe quality coffee. It is designed to give you the practical knowledge to prepare espresso coffees in a cafe environment. The skills you will develop in this module include:

  • Basic barista techniques
  • Creating some cafe food - cakes, sandwiches, pastries
  • Team work
  • Customer service

Students will attend a short course at Crown Institute of Studies as part of this programme

Once a student makes their selections and confirms these, any changes must be accompanied by a letter of support from Whanau and are subject to available spaces in courses. 
All Junior Bilingual students must select the literacy and numeracy modules in the language of their pathway each trimester and one other integrated language module  (3 out of 4 of their modules must be bilingual).
All senior Bilingual students must take all modules available in the language of their pathway.
