Courses Description

Head of Pathway: Ms R. Eveleigh.

Through a process of brainstorming and researching a significant idea that is important to you, you will create a sculpture. You will photograph the creation of it, as well as the final artwork in context. 

This work can be used for the ‘Express Yourself- portfolio’, if you choose this course in T2 & T3

Express Yourself - Visual Art

This leads to Trimester 2 and 3 Visual Art - Students who take and pass Art in 2 out of 3 trimesters can reach the 14-credit minimum to get a subject endorsement in Visual Art for University entrance. If all three modules of visual art are selected, there is the opportunity to sit for Visual Art Scholarship.

Course context or content may change by the start of the year.

Once a student makes their selections and confirms these, any changes must be accompanied by a letter of support from Whanau and are subject to available spaces in courses. 

All Junior Bilingual students must select the literacy and numeracy modules in the language of their pathway each trimester and one other integrated language module  (3 out of 4 of their modules must be bilingual).

All senior Bilingual students must take all modules available in the language of their pathway.
