Voices against injustice - English and Drama

Are you passionate about making a difference and want to use your creativity to address real-world issues? Join our exciting Year 12 English and Drama integrated module, "Voices Against Injustice," where you'll have the unique opportunity to combine the power of performance with the art of critical analysis.

In this module, you will:

  • Devise and Perform: Collaborate with your peers to create and stage an original drama piece that highlights a specific social injustice, drawing on real-life stories and powerful themes. Drama AS (91214) 2.2 (5 credits)
  • Analyse and Reflect: Dive deep into visual and oral texts, from impactful films to inspiring speeches, and develop your analytical skills to uncover the techniques used to convey messages of change. English AS 2.10 (3 credits)
  • Make an Impact: Use your voice and creativity to raise awareness about important social issues, engaging and inspiring others through your performance and insights.

Through hands-on workshops, engaging discussions, and dynamic performances, you'll enhance your creative and analytical abilities, gaining a deeper understanding of the world around you. Whether you're a budding actor, a keen writer, or simply passionate about social justice, this module will empower you to make your voice heard.

Once a student makes their selections and confirms these, any changes must be accompanied by a letter of support from Whanau and are subject to available spaces in courses. 
All Junior Bilingual students must select the literacy and numeracy modules in the language of their pathway each trimester and one other integrated language module  (3 out of 4 of their modules must be bilingual).
All senior Bilingual students must take all modules available in the language of their pathway.
