Aliens! - Science

2ALIE1S
Courses Description

Head of Pathway:

Space… an expansive emptiness… and we are all alone in it.

Or are we??

In this module you will investigate the biology of life. What makes humans, human? What genes do we have in common, and how do our genes express themselves to make us our own unique selves?

Once you know your own humanity, you can start to investigate what other kinds of life could exist in space. Aliens? Water bears? Martians? Critically examine the extreme environments that exist in space, and what kind of life could survive there.

You may even have the opportunity to look at life on its smallest scale, by using microscopes to examine the smallest living things. Could space be populated by these tiny unicellular beings?

Are we really alone in our universe? Or are our intergalactic cousins closer than we think? You decide!
