Courses Description

The responsibilities of the Tongan monarchs from 1900 – 2000 is a Year 11/ 12 course designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the Tongan monarchs in the 20th century. The students will explore the political, social, and cultural developments in the Kingdom of Tonga during this period, amazing the actions taken by the monarchs and their impact on the nation and its people. 

In their study, they will compare this to the roles and responsibilities of the NZ government nowadays. They will analyse the similarities and differences and how they have an impact on their current lifestyle as a Tongan.

Once a student makes their selections and confirms these, any changes must be accompanied by a letter of support from Whanau and are subject to available spaces in courses. 
All Junior Bilingual students must select the literacy and numeracy modules in the language of their pathway each trimester and one other integrated language module  (3 out of 4 of their modules must be bilingual).
All senior Bilingual students must take all modules available in the language of their pathway.
