Food For Thought - Food Technology and Maths

Courses Description

Head of Pathway: Ms R. Eveleigh.

Statistics are important in food technology to find out trends, evaluate food safety, food quality, consumer preferences, explore relationships and draw conclusions from data.

We will create a variety of food outcomes and buy some known products to do statistical investigation -

  • Tongue tests for tastes
  • Taste and compare brands, can you tell the difference??
  • Create your own product, get feedback and improve it
  • Probability is about chance - can you recognise if it is a fake brand, self made or not
