Courses Description

In Maths you will be exploring  - shapes, symmetry, rotation etc, 2D/3D. Number - whole number, F/D/%

Do you know that in some fruits and vegetables there are naturally occurring geometric shapes - slice an apple in half to reveal a perfect ‘star’. Geometric shapes can be used to make ‘plating’ food look attractive and interesting. 

You will have the opportunity to explore numeracy through food technology, solving real life problems and application in the kitchen. When cooking you will become familiar with the different measures used and the correct equipment. You will change a recipe from 6 persons to 2 persons.

This course will result in you getting  opportunities to practise food hygiene, teamwork and experiencing the joy is attractive plating of your food outcome.

Once a student makes their selections and confirms these, any changes must be accompanied by a letter of support from Whanau and are subject to available spaces in courses. 

All Junior Bilingual students must select the literacy and numeracy modules in the language of their pathway each trimester and one other integrated language module  (3 out of 4 of their modules must be bilingual).

All senior Bilingual students must take all modules available in the language of their pathway.
