Courses Description

TE ARATAKI KI TE URU TRADES ACADEMY

OVERVIEW:

  • Day TBC
  • Unitec: Mt Albert Campus
  • 21 L2 or L3 credits
  • Safety gear provided

This course would suit students who are practical learners and would like to move into the booming construction industry where there are excellent job opportunities.

You will learn skills in the construction industry by engaging in practical projects.

PATHWAYS

  • Certificates and diplomas in Tourism or business.
  • Entry level customer service roles.
  • If combined with 3 or 4 university approved subjects, students could pursue university degrees in tourism, hospitality management or business.

COURSE INFO

Introduction to carpentry including:

  • Timber
  • Using tools
  • Health and Safety
  • The Level 2 course is required for entry to the Level 3 course.

All Junior Bilingual students must select the literacy and numeracy modules in the language of their pathway each trimester and one other integrated language module  (3 out of 4 of their modules must be bilingual).

All senior Bilingual students must take all modules available in the language of their pathway.
